30 Days "Take Action" Program - Day 4
What It Takes - Attitude is Everything
To succeed in building a business you must "learn to learn" before you can "earn as you learn" so you can "maximize earning". To learn to learn takes a good attitude.
Attitudes and YOU! We see the results of people's attitudes every single day. These attitudes affect many things, one of which being how we handle stress. Attitude can also affect the way stress handles us. Optimists are able to cope more effectively with stress. When optimistic people decide to do something, they achieve more. Not only do they achieve more but they do it far more effectively, thus multiplying their results.
How do you spot people with positive attitudes?
People with positive attitudes view situations differently from those with negative attitudes. Here are some general statements. Think about how you would respond to each statement.
- In times of uncertainty, I usually expect the best.
- In times of uncertainty, I usually expect the worst.
- I look on the bright side of things.
- I look on the dark side of things.
- I hardly ever expect things to go my way.
- I do not always expect things to go my way. When they do not, I try to learn something from the experience.
Attitudes can even be detected in the words we use. For example, "I won't," indicates choice, whereas "I can't" indicates powerlessness.
So, your attitude towards life will affect your ability to learn, which will directly affect your ability to build your business. The habits you currently have may need to be removed and be replaced with new techniques and strategies. In Follow Our Lead we are all partners on a journey, and the greatest challenge in our roadmap to professional success is to embrace the values of sharing and caring that make us a team that is so strong that it propels everyone forward.
So start by silencing negativity for 24 hours. Concentrate only on the good in yourself and in others that you meet and interact with. Give the inner critic a day off, and in so doing spend a day with best self.

Daily Action
One of the most critical elements in building an online business is taking Daily Action. Logically most people realize if they keep doing the same things that they will keep getting the same results. However, even in knowing this people still fail to take a simple action that is different. More often than not it is because they don't know the difference between affective action and non-affective action.
Affective action has the key element of sustainable motivation whereas non-affective action does not. To understand this further you need to understand motivation.
For instance a good first step towards understanding what motivates people is to ask "What do you want from running your own business?" They might answer, "money" or "power" but is this answer a real motivator is it something that will initiate affective or non-affective action?
Money and power are non-affective motivators; they are not at the core. If however you followed-up with the question "What would you do if you had money" then you will find out the core motivation that can facilitate affective action.
Affective action is necessary for own ability to move beyond our present circumstances, just as it is for those we will come in contact with. To be able to take Daily Action you need to find your motivation. So ask yourself why you want the business to succeed and list out a minimum of 10 reasons.
Print the 10 reasons out and put them in locations that you can see daily. Review the 10 reasons every month to see if they need modified, removed or new ones added. This will assist you in maintaining affective daily action.
