Tagging

The Tagging Group is a partner to or companion to the main Follow Our Lead group. It was specifically created so members could send testimonials about the power of FOL to other potential FOL prospects. We call it "tagging" and this group is for members of the Follow Our Lead Team only.

What Good Is A Tag?
The power of a tag from existing FOL members is untold. It speaks volumes about the dedication and commitment of the members- about their drive and desire to help others. It is a "third-party" opinion about something they have personally experienced.

What better testimony could you possibly get when you are trying to recruit a prospect to FOL. Tagging can tell stories, can offer help, offer encouragement, and can add the human touch to your prospecting

If you were tagged before you joined, remember how awesome it was to get emails from people who were successfully using FOL? Remember what they said? Remember how they told you FOL was unique, and one of a kind in the online marketing world? They weren't kidding. If you weren't tagged, that's fine, you will have learned all these things by now.

FOL is unlike any other group on the Internet. FOL offers FREE training and support to ANYONE – repeat – ANYONE – for 30 days. Yes at the end of 30 days we do ask they join at least one program we offer under our umbrella – but think about it. Your KEY marketing point in any tag, besides the personal touch, is this very point.

FREE training and support to get anyone started on the road to success marketing online. Whether or not they have previous online experience or not, are in one of our programs or not, or green as grass, it does not matter. FOL WILL HELP THEM. FOL believes in returning to the Net (and people involved in it) what they have received from it. Sort of like giving back to your community what you received from it.

When Should You Request A Tag?
You can ask for a tag from the group after you have started your "relationship marketing" with the prospect. Here it is again, the emphasis on relationships. It's critical, and that is how you get permission as well to have your prospect tagged. Also, make sure they have seen your team website prior to requesting a tag.

And, give them an invitation to the Yahoo group main group, which is http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/followourlead/join

Let them know before asking for a tag, they will only be contacted ONCE by Team Leaders, unless they want further support from a Leader. Why is this important? Because they may view it as spam and if they don't know it's coming, or don't realize how powerful this is, they could get upset.

opt-in tagging – remember you got their permission first to tag. And, you are only contacting them ONCE unless THEY request otherwise.

Before asking for a tag, make sure you have some information about the person prior to tagging. For instance:

  • Are they currently promoting a business? What is it?
  • If they have a business what do they need help with?
  • What are their areas of concern?

Example Tag request to group:
Would you please tag Jane Smith, she is currently building an online business in BUSINESS NAME, the primary product she is marketing is PRODUCT NAME. She is interested in the following aspects of what our team has to offer:

  • List area of interest here:
  • She has concerns regarding:
  • List concerns:

You may tag Jane at JaneSmith@email.com please CC me at MyEmail@email.com when you tag Jane.

By including the kind of information above, the person asking for the tag is telling the prospect information that's relevant to THEM and how it relates to being part of the FOL group. It also may help alleviate fears that might stop them from moving forward – such as they don't know how to do something, or where to look for prospects, or how to write a letter etc.

By being CC'd on the tag, you stay on top of communications with the prospect.

Example notification of pending tag from team members to your prospect:
I want you to understand how knowledgeable and powerful the Follow Our Lead plan is and that we truly work as a team. No one is left alone to struggle to succeed. With that in mind I'll let a couple of leaders know you need help building a business.

They will likely write you a personal note telling you a bit about the team and other info. They'll only write you once by the way unless of course you want to talk with them more. It's just their way of lending support and letting you know there is a real TEAM with a real PLAN that works. And if you want help, it's available to you as a valuable member, a part of that TEAM.

What to put in a tag that you are sending to a team mate's prospect:
Speak from the heart about your own experience with the group. There is NOTHING better than first hand knowledge and experience to really communicate to someone else. Share what is important to you about the group, and talk about things you know about that pertain specifically to the individual being tagged.

Review the group message archives for examples of effective tags to get inspiration. Do not copy examples, as you need to write a personal note for it to really be effective.

What to do after tags have been sent:
Thank the Team members who sent tags to your prospect. Stay in touch with the person tagged for follow-up. Invite them to the next team meeting online, and if they haven't already joined the main Yahoo training group, invite them to join.
