The Necessity of Follow Through
Now that you have gotten this far in your lessons, you will likely have figured out that following up with your prospects is THE key to success. And, if you stop to think about that, it makes perfect sense. Look at it this way. If you were introduced to someone, and then over a period of time you developed a relationship, and then they suddenly dropped off the face of the earth – what would you think?
Most people would figure they had done something wrong, or that the person didn't have any interest in them any longer or they would be baffled. Okay, there may also be a few relieved ones in there too. That's life. But for the most part, if you have developed a relationship of some kind, even an email one, and then don't continue to keep in touch – say buh-bye to your prospect.
The prospect is likely going to feel they have been hung out to dry. And, in a way they have been if you do not follow through with your contacts. The whole foundation of Follow Our Lead (FOL) is built on relationship marketing. How many times now have you heard this? Probably too many to count right?
Well, we're going to say it again. Relationships are what will make or break your business. Period. If you take the time to build a relationship with someone, then you obviously think they have the potential to be a valuable part of your team. So why stop talking to them? Why would you not invest more time to keep them happy and loyal, and therefore assets to you and your business?
If you thought about those questions for any length of time, you would see that in order to succeed in online marketing (and in other areas of your life) you need to put your commitment where your mouth is. If your prospects don't see you "doing" and staying in touch and following through with what you need to do to build an online business, then guess what? They aren't going to do it either. Can we spell failure?
It's a little like that song that goes "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone!" You truly don't know what you have unless it is gone - if you don't follow through with your prospects and your team and taking action daily.
Sound like a tall order? Sure it is, but anything worth having is worth working for isn't it? You either want to succeed in business or you don't. There isn't any in-between on that. And furthermore, you don't just need to stay in contact and follow through with just your prospects.
You need to follow through with FOL Team members. They are an integral part of your success as well. Why? Because without them, you would not have come this far. And without them, you will not continue to succeed in the way you want to either.
If you have hit a wall and have lost motivation, or just can't get out of a rut, ask for help. FOL Team members are here to help you – always. You are never alone in your quest to succeed. Don't understand something? Can't write a good e-mail to save your soul? Feel silly asking? No asked questions are silly. They show you are interested and wanting to grow with FOL.
All FOL Team members will point you in the right direction, to give you the support and help you need. Don't feel alone, they have been where you are at one time, and they know how you feel. No one is "up" every day, or motivated everyday, or for that matter, knows the right things to say and do when marketing. Online marketing can be a bearcat, and you can only do it with help. You can only do it IF YOU FOLLOW THROUGH.
