You Want me to CALL Someone?

Phone marketing scares the pants off a great many people, and with good reason. In a lot of cases, you're talking to someone you do not know and cannot read over the phone. And, the added disadvantage is you cannot see their face either.

Now, in some cases that would be a bad thing, but with phone marketing, if you pay attention to how people respond to you, and LISTEN to what they are saying and HOW they are saying it – you can become quite adept at reading a prospect/customer over the phone.

The biggest fear to overcome is the fear of the unknown – person. Really, without being too trite, the person on the other end of the phone (in most cases) is only a stranger until you have talked to them. Most people are willing to talk to you particularly if they opted in to get a phone call in the first place. So really all that is left for you to do is ------TALK!

Don't have a clue what to say? Actually, it's a lot easier than you might imagine. Here's an example: and this is done in a very conversational manner, not in sales pitch mode.

Hi (name). This is (your name) calling from (your city). (Name) this is just a short courtesy call, but you stopped by my web site awhile ago and filled out a form asking for information about developing an income from home.

Do you remember doing that? (wait for the answer even if there is a moment of silence) Perfect! I just wanted to give you a quick call to introduce myself. And to fill you in a bit on our (product/service/opportunity) and let you know why this opportunity would appeal to you – because it has no other competition in the network marketing industry – and that is VERY unique and unusual.

So how serious are you about developing an income from home?

WAIT FOR THE ANSWER – it will tell you tons of things about the person you are talking to. If they say is this an MLM scheme – right away you know you do not want to work with this person. If they say, well sort of, but how hard do I have to work – you reply – you know what, I don't think this opportunity is really suited for you.

Thanks for your time, and MOVE ON! You cannot force someone into being interested or wanting to work, they either do or they don't.

IF however you get a response like – I'm very serious, really serious or words to that effect, you move into part two of your phone call and say:

Do you have about 5 minutes for me to give you some information about our (product/service/opportunity)? WAIT FOR ANSWER. If they say YES – move on to the following

"I am a member of a group called Follow Our Lead. We're a TEAM of Internet marketers, business entrepreneurs, skilled communicators and individuals who are either old hands in the industry or are new to the business. We provide FREE 30 day training and support to ANYONE who is interested in making their business a success.

The Follow Our Lead Team has assisted in generating over 100 million dollars in sales for our clients or members, making us one of the leaders in the industry for interactive online marketing solutions. We have found that success comes with working with like-minded people with common goals and aspirations.

Working as a TEAM and sharing our knowledge with those who want it, will ensure YOUR success as an individual and OUR success as a TEAM.

We offer Products, Training and Services FREE to assist people in succeeding with their online projects, no matter what area they work in and we do not compete with anyone online or in a business. We do this with TEAM and LEADERSHIP concepts knowing that if YOU succeed using our Products, Training and Services, then WE all succeed. Success builds Success.

Pretty interesting concept right? WAIT FOR THE ANSWER", then ask them to join us at a meeting.

Sure some areas of this call may go off the rails, but then you are talking to a person who will have questions, and that's the good thing. So long as you know your products, etc and what FOL stands for, you can talk to anyone about what we do.

Bottom line is this, talk to the person like you were talking to someone sitting across the table from you over lunch or coffee. This isn't a contest to recruit as many people into FOL as you can – this is about helping other people to succeed with OUR help.

If they don't want that help, or don't want that kind of opportunity, then that is their choice. There is no sense in arguing with them otherwise. If you do, you will become another one of "those annoying Internet marketers" who don't know the meaning of the word NO.

Accept a NO with grace and dignity, it is not a personal rejection (unless you have overstayed your welcome). Leave it be and accept their decision for what it is. You will gain far more "points" in the long run by respecting their desires. You can always re-visit the proposition again later, for sometimes NO only means NO, not right NOW.

Don't by any means try and bribe them into joining FOL with a promise of unlimited income, or a promise that it is SO easy to earn money or build a business with FOL. Why not? Because the simple truth of the matter is that building a business is HARD WORK and we are not doing anyone any great favors by sugar coating that.

Be honest and right up front. Yes, it takes hard work, but you will have a TEAM supporting you, available any time you want help.

The First 15 Seconds Of A Prospecting Call – How to Do it Right - Another Script

Start by asking questions immediately after you have told them who you are and that you are with FOL. This is the human approach, the one that leads to relationship marketing. Ask what city they live in. If you have been there and liked it, tell them that. If you haven't don't lie, you'll get caught.

Here is what you can say (feel free to experiment with the script)

Thanks for replying to the information you received about FOL and the four products we offer and working from home. What did you think?

Wait for the answer, one of three things will happen at this point. They will remember your email, your product and the temptation of working at home. OR, they will "kind of remember" – in which case, hit the highlights of your email to them again.

By now, you know the FOL highlights and can rattle them off. If not, then make sure you have them written down right in front of you so you sound like you know what you are talking about.

Example

FOL is a team of experienced Internet marketers who have banded together to help others become successful in working at home and making an income. We offer free training and support for everyone for 30 days, whether they are in a business or not, or belong to our group or not.

After 30 days, we do ask you to consider one or more of our four programs to promote. This is how you will earn your extra income from home. We are behind you every step of they way, and will help you build your business.

Name the four programs and add a few quick words about what they do. Then try and make sure they are online with you and you can direct them to your FOL site. Make sure you have your FOL url on hand when having this conversation. It will help you sell yourself and the concept of FOL.

Walk them through the site and do a bit more explaining about it. Always keep asking questions like:

  • What do you think?
  • Do you like the idea?
  • If you are impressed with this opportunity, would you devote at least 2 hours a day to working the program/taking action?
  • FOL has a proven track record of success. Do you like the idea of being coached till you are successful?
  • If you could start a business with as little as $10 per month and receive a 30 day Taking Action training to get you started quickly would that interest you?

You get the idea. If the prospect says yes to all your questions, have them join our group and you and FOL team members will take it from there. If there is ANY hesitation on their part, or they say no to any question, disqualify them immediately and move on to another call. If you have any questions about phone scripts, how to use them, how to write them or just general questions, ask any FOL team member for help.

We will never leave you out there on a limb. Your success is our success and we are committed to making FOL work for you.
